President and Chief Executive Officer Hicham Abdessamad leads Hitachi’s consulting organization, which operates in over 50 countries around the world and delivers measurable business outcomes across 12 different industries. Hitachi Consulting helps its clients solve complex business challenges with innovative and integrated solutions.

In addition to his responsibilities leading Hitachi Consulting, Hicham is the Deputy General Manager of Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business, a key growth area for Hitachi to drive innovation and co-creation with customers as they transform their businesses for the Digital era. In 2018, he was appointed to the role of CEO, Hitachi Global Digital Holdings, the holding company for Hitachi Consulting, Hitachi Vantara, and Hitachi Social Innovation Business. Hicham also serves as a corporate officer for Hitachi, Ltd. and is the Chairman of the Board of oXya, a Hitachi Group Company.

Prior to these roles, Hicham was executive vice president of global services at Hitachi Data Systems (now Hitachi Vantara), where he led the strategic direction of worldwide consulting, professional services, managed services, cloud and customer support organizations. Earlier at HDS, Hicham held senior leadership roles in various organizations, including global solutions services, and the HDS global software line of business.

Earlier in his career, Hicham led the EMC Global Practice for the Open Software division and later managed the global practice for the EMC Information Management Software Division. Hicham also worked at StorageNetworks, where he pioneered the storage service provider model, driving their transformation into a software and services-based company.

Hicham holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Suffolk University. He also completed the executive development program at the Tuck’s School of Business at Dartmouth University, and the executive leadership program at the International Institute of Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
