FutureFuel
According to Frank Kochendoerfer, Director of SAP Labs, LLC, who was quoted in the May issue of Chemical Engineering, 'a prime example of the potential time savings can be found in FutureFuel Corp., a company that was spun off by Eastman Chemical Company late last year, and whose portfolio of products includes biofuels. SAP's partner, Hitachi Consulting, used the "Best Practices" approach in the Future Fuel implementation and had the system up and running in five months.

That is certainly better than the minimum of nine months that an implementation from scratch would have required, he says. Typically, a company starting with no SAP platform at all can slash setup time by at least 30% by piggybacking on the experience that the firm (Hitachi Consulting) has gathered.'
